The Venerable

Jon Abboud, D.Min

Rector

I have been the pastor of St. Matthew's Church since January of 1983.  I am also the founder of St. Matthew's Day Care, which started in 1985.  I have degrees from:

  • Gwynedd Mercy College (B.A.)

  • Reformed Episcopal Seminary (M.Div.)

  • Sangre de Cristo Institute for Biblical Studies (Th.D.)

  • Westminster Theological Seminary (Ph.D.)

 

In addition to serving as Archdeacon of the Diocese, I have served on numerous boards and committees of the Diocese and national Reformed Episcopal Church. 

 

I enjoy playing golf, deep-sea fishing, and spending time at the Shore with my wife Bonnie and my sons Joel and Jon David and family.

Rodrick S. Lee
  • Ordained Deacon September, 1996 at St. Matthew's Reformed Episcopal Church

  • Ordained Presbyter in 2006

  • Graduated BA in Bible at Simpson University

  • Graduated Master of Divinity, Alliance Theological Seminary, Nyack, NY 1995

  • Graduated Master of Social Work, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA in 2008

 

Married to April, August, 1995, with one daughter, Julia. In addition to working at St. Matthew's Church, I also work full-time as a Social Worker at Bethanna Children's Services, a Christian foster care/adoption agency, located in Southampton, PA.

 

My wife and I enjoy hiking, kayaking and going to the shore.

Justin M. Forsberg

Assistant to the Rector

I officially joined St. Matthew's and the Reformed Episcopal Church in 2006 via the order of Confirmation.

​

I was:  

  • Ordained to the Diaconate in the REC on All Saints' 2008

  • Ordained to the Presbyterate in 2012 

  • Received my Diploma for completion of 3 years' course work at Reformed Episcopal Seminary in May 2006.

  • Completed my B.A. in English with a minor in German at Temple University in 2011

  • Wrote my Thesis: Nietzsche, Aesthetics, and the Bible for completion of my Masters of Divinity from Reformed Episcopal Seminary Spring 2012.

 

In addition to my vocation at St. Matthew's, I also serve as adjunct faculty at Reformed Episcopal Seminary in the capacity of 'Lecturer of Biblical Languages.' I have taught Greek Grammar 1-3, and still offer study groups for interested individuals.  Currently, I teach Hebrew Grammar 1-3 as well as offering a Syriac course in 2 parts for those who wish to undertake further studies in Semitic languages.

I like traveling, going to the beach, and biking with my family; movies and tv shows with long, thoughtful, or otherwise in-depth stories.
